Automotive Detailing Technician

We're looking for reliable, detail-focused, and motivated individuals with strong communication skills to join our small, high-performing team. This opportunity is perfect for skilled, self-directed automotive detailers who want performance-based income, flexible project selection, and a long-term path to growing their career or operating their own location.

What You'll Do
- Travel daily in mobile detailing vans to client locations
- Detail both interior and exterior of vehicles for high-end clientele
- Jobs typically take 3–4 hours, and clients often leave tips
- Pay is commission-based per job, so efficiency directly impacts earnings
- Grow into managing higher-ticket services like ceramic coatings or PPF, or advance into a managerial role
Training & Tools Provided
- Work vans, tools, and chemicals supplied
- Company apparel provided (shirts, hoodies, jackets)
- Optional training in advanced services: ceramic coatings, paint correction, PPF support, PDR support
Pay & Growth Opportunities
- Commission-based per job, $22–$60/hr depending on efficiency
- Weekly payouts (Tuesdays)
- No cap on earnings
- Opportunity to scale into advanced service specialization, lead technician roles, location management, or operating your own Detail On The Go location
Schedule & Work Structure
- Flexible, independent 1099 contractor role
- No guaranteed hours or required minimums
- Contractors choose which jobs to accept, how many to take, and when to work
- Work may be mobile (on-site) or in-shop, solo or team-based depending on the job
- Peak months: March–November (higher volume)
- Winter months: slower, more flexible
Performance Standards
While you control how work is performed, accepted jobs must meet agreed-upon standards:
- Complete services within the defined scope of work
- Deliver consistent, high-quality results aligned with Detail On The Go brand standards
- Communicate professionally with customers and team members
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and vehicles
- Request customer reviews when appropriate (impacts future opportunities and incentives)
Appearance & Brand Standards
- Company-branded outerwear (provided) required
- Clean, professional appearance
- Tan or brown pants/shorts and belt (not provided)
- Closed-toe shoes or approved footwear; no flip-flops
- No smoking or vaping in or near client vehicles
Equipment & End-of-Job Responsibilities
- Return equipment clean and organized
- Towels returned for laundering
- Trash removed
- Report low supplies, fuel, or missing equipment promptly
- Clean vacuums weekly if used regularly
Requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
- Smartphone with internet access
- Professional conduct and appearance
- Ability to operate independently
- Active contractor insurance (~$50–$70/month; setup assistance provided)
- Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and business compliance
