This opportunity is for skilled, self-directed automotive detailers who want performance-based income, flexible project selection, and a long-term path to operating their own location.

Detail On The Go partners with independent contractors who take ownership of their work, manage their own schedules, and are compensated based on results—not hours.

What You Get

Scope of Work

Automotive Detailing & Appearance Services

Independent contractors may accept jobs involving:

  • Interior detailing
  • Exterior washes and decontamination
  • Paint correction (machine polishing)
  • Ceramic coating preparation and application
  • Headlight restoration
  • Pet hair removal and extraction
  • RV and boat detailing
  • Supporting PPF, PDR, and glass repair services when applicable

Contractors may choose which jobs to accept based on availability, experience, and preference.

Schedule & Work Structure

1099-Aligned

Independent contractor relationship (1099)

No guaranteed hours or required minimums

Contractors choose:

  • Which jobs to accept
  • How many jobs to take
  • When they are available to work

Work may be:

  • Mobile (on-site)
  • In-shop
  • Solo or team-based, depending on the job accepted

Start times vary by project and customer needs

Volume tends to increase during peak months (typically March–November)

Winter months generally offer lighter volume and increased flexibility

Contractors are responsible for managing their own time, pace, and workflow for each accepted job.

Performance Standards

While contractors control how work is performed, accepted jobs must meet agreed-upon standards, including:

  • Completing services within the defined scope of work
  • Delivering consistent quality aligned with Detail On The Go brand standards
  • Communicating professionally with customers when applicable
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of any equipment or vehicles used
  • Requesting customer reviews when appropriate (impacts future job opportunities and incentives)

This Opportunity Is NOT a Good Fit If:

  • You want guaranteed hourly pay
  • You prefer fixed schedules or assigned shifts
  • You require constant supervision
  • You are uncomfortable working independently
  • You are not interested in performance-based compensation

This is a contractor partnership, not a traditional employment role.

Appearance & Brand Use

When representing Detail On The Go on accepted jobs:

  • Company-branded shirts, hoodies, or jackets must be worn as the outer layer (provided)
  • Clean, professional appearance required
  • Tan or brown pants/shorts and a belt required (not provided)
  • Closed-toe shoes, boots, or approved footwear required
  • No flip flops
  • No smoking or vaping in or near client vehicles

Equipment & End-of-Job Responsibilities

For contractors using company-provided equipment:

  • Equipment must be returned clean and organized
  • Towels returned for laundering
  • Trash removed
  • Low supplies, fuel, or missing equipment reported promptly
  • Vacuums cleaned weekly if used regularly

Contractor Requirements

  • Reliable transportation to job locations or equipment pickup points
  • Smartphone with internet access
  • Professional conduct and communication
  • Ability to operate independently
  • Active contractor insurance (~$50–$70/month; setup assistance available)
  • Responsible for own taxes, insurance, and business compliance

Compensation Summary
